Tag Cloud
Here are my del.icio.us tags. The reason there are so many for eMusic and emusicdls is because I use del.icio.us to keep track of albums I'm thinking of downloading, as well as the ones I already have. I probably have too many tags. It's been a while since I went through and pruned the orphan tags. I try to use singular for attributes and plural/infinitive for categories. For example blog means the thing is a blog, blogs means the thing is about blogs.
Explanation for some of my top tags
Sometimes when I'm browsing on del.icio.us, I wish people were able to attach remarks to their tags. If we could easily review what all the users of a particular tag intend for it to signify, a consensus about ways to use tags might gradually be reached, much as the tags used for a particular site tend to converge over time. This would also facilitate matching up tags that are identical in what they signify, but are expressed in a different language. For a rather obvious example essen often means the same as restaurant, and almost always does if it's paired with a tag that points to a city name. One would expect this to be true for other languages, as well as for synonyms like dining.
